We’re celebrating the kickoff of the Purdue Football Season! This pre-game and post-game experience is for Purdue and Oregon State Fans of all ages!  The fun starts on Friday at 3 p.m. with the highly anticipated Fan Experience in Downtown Lafayette and ends on Sunday with discounted access to Greater Lafayette Parks and Recreation amenities. Mosey Down Main Street – 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM – Downtown Lafayette 

Mosey Down Main Street is a series of street celebrations brought to you by the local artistic community. Volunteers, downtown business owners, artists and musicians come together once a month from May through September to offer a free, family friendly event that takes place right down the center of Main Street.With three stages of music, outdoor food, beer, and wine sales as well as street performers, sidewalk chalk and hand made Hula hoops, Drum circles and DJ’s, belly dancers, and balloon animals.

Boilermaker Crossing – 3 hours before kickoff – Sally & Bob Weist Plaza

Fans, especially families, looking for fun before home games will want to check out the popular Boilermaker Crossing. Meet-the-team events, inflatable games, a band, a beer garden, and interactive opportunities highlight the list of activities. The Boilermaker Crossing is free and open to fans of all ages. Located in the Sally & Bob Weist Plaza, between Mackey Arena and Holloway Gymnasium, Boilermaker Crossing opens 3 hours before kickoff. Free Event.

Historical Lafayette Farmers Market – 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM – Downtown Lafayette

The Lafayette Farmers Market has been around for over 165 years! On Saturdays, from early May through late October, the air in downtown Lafayette is filled with the smell of fresh garden flowers, baked goods, vegetables, fruits, plus honey, jams and jellies. Regardless of the day or time, a visit to the Lafayette Farmers Market promises some of the finest and freshest produce, as well as an enjoyable opportunity to browse as you stroll through one of Indiana’s oldest outdoor markets!

Labor Day Weekend Free Family Day At Columbian Park – 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Save the date! Join us in Columbian Park for a day of fun on Saturday, September 4, featuring FREE pedal boat rides, FREE train rides, FREE zoo admission, FREE live music by Scott Greeson & Trouble with Monday, food trucks, and more! This event is in conjunction with the Northwest Indiana Labor Council’s annual Laborers Day Picnic. More details to be announced soon!

Wolf Park Howl Night – 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM – Wolf Park Battle Ground

Visit Wolf Park in the evening and see our animals in a whole new light. As the night falls and the air cools, the wolves grow lively. Guests will learn how wolves communicate, both through their “trademark” behavior – the howl, and through body language. Wolf Park staff members will join the wolves midway through the evening to demonstrate how our animal curators work with our wolves through positive reinforcement training and reading body language. Guests will be encouraged to howl along as the wolves serenade the park.

7:00 – 7:30 Walking Path Open

7:30 – 8:30 Howl Program

Cameras are welcome, but no flash photography, please, as it can startle or upset the wolves. Generally, the wolves come right up to the fence and can be seen clearly.

Purdue Band & Orchestra Presents: Thrill On The Hill – 90 Minutes Prior To Kickoff – 1200 W Stadium Ave.

Join us  as the Purdue “All-American” Marching Bandand auxiliaries entertain the crowd on Slayter Hill with a preview of their Homecoming halftime selections, trivia, and more! Free and open to the public.
