“Well hello everybody! We’re sitting out here on the back porch chilling out talking a little bit about what’s been going on and well we’ve been in quarantine for a little bit in the times of COVID-19.  So we wanted to talk a little bit and help people understand what it’s like to be a seller during this time when they’re listing their home for sale, in regard to how many showings people are having, and what it’s like.”

“So I wanted to bring to you some clients of mine today and we just went through the process and are completing the process of selling a home. We listed right at the onset of shelter-in-place. We went through the process of getting showings, getting an offer accepted, we’re through to the title and now we’re getting ready to head into closing. So I thought I’d bring some real people in front of you that are going through it, so that maybe you could understand. So I am sitting here with Marejka and Adam and Hannah!” – Aimee

“So I want to talk to you a little bit about what the process was like for you. Do you think it was any different than selling, what it felt like? What are your thoughts? What were the different processes, and how did we handle it?” – Aimee

“We will talk about the process.” – Aimee

“So the home that we’re currently talking about is just down the street from this home, which is actually up for sale now. So we’ve got a couple of homes that we are selling. The previous one went on the market, like Aimee said, right when the shelter in place started, and so we were all a little bit curious to see what was going to happen. And frankly it was just a little bit different, but no less interest than what I had seen in other times selling other houses. What was unique was that things took place more by video and so we had agents coming into the home doing zoom tours with the people who are interested in looking at it or buyers. and then people who are really interested in it did come and take a look at the home in person. But it’s kind of like after an agent had shown them via video. We also had a matter port or another video that we had used for that particular home.” – Marejka

“And frankly, we had offers in about the same amount of time as I would have expected with any other home. So it was different but, just something that we all have to get used to. And I think that again in terms of what’s happening now. What I’ve seen is that there are lots of properties going up. There are offers getting made on them every day. So we put this home on the market, what eight, nine days ago? And we’ve had six showings. So there’s definitely a lot of activity in the market right now and I don’t think that people are holding back. I think people are just doing things a little bit differently than they used to.” – Marejka

“No open houses, that’s true really different.” – Adam

“So some of the safety precautions that we went through, we asked the people wear gloves and masks and just to protect themselves upon entering, as well as protecting a person that owns the home.” – Aimee

“And so yeah, so we say you know don’t worry about turning off lights. Because we don’t need our switches touched, things like that and it’s pretty easy. So we leave when we are leaving the home for a showing we’ll leave all the lights on and do all that ahead of time so that the realtor that’s coming through doesn’t have to worry about it. The doors are open. It’s similar but there are just some little tweaks that we use to keep it a little bit safer.” – Marejka

“I think everybody’s been receiving the process well it’s just like any other transaction. We’re just using some different safety precautions for protecting the person that’s viewing as well as the person that’s selling. And so I think it’s gone pretty well. We’ve had no problems. We’ve got you guys under contract we’re rolling to closing. So it’s pretty exciting. I just thought it’d be fun to share with you what it’s like on the other side as a seller. what it’s like to go through this process while we’re going through some interesting times of quarantine.” – Aimee

“Yeah it’s a different time, but it’s going really well and thank you Aimee for all your help.” – Marejka

“Awesome, so well, thank you so much and I appreciate you taking time to talk to us today and I hope this helps other people understand. And helps them feel better about the process. Buyers are looking for homes and there’s lots of showings happening, so there’s no fears there anyway. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact me. I am ready willing and able to answer anything you have, there is no such thing as a dumb question. I am here for you so thanks again.” -Aimee
