Mothers’s day is this Sunday May 10th. Need some ideas on how to celebrate at home? Maybe your traditional celebration cannot happen due to the coronavirus. You can still make Mother’s day special for your mom, don’t give up, get creative! Here are some ideas.
Many restaurants in Lafayette are still open for take out, curbside pick up or delivery. Grab some food from your mom’s favorite place, or perhaps stumble on to a new fav. Give her the night off from cooking or cleaning up dinner. Let her sleep in and serve her some breakfast (or lunch) in bed.
Give her time to just sit and watch a movie. Is there something she has been wanting to watch, but hasn’t had the time? Order something she hasn’t seen from an online streaming service. Or turn it into a family event and share a movie together.
If she is over watching movies from being quarantined, grab a new book. Order a hard copy or an ebook for her to read outside, or soaking in the tub. If reading isn’t her thing, maybe an audio book is the next best thing.
Have a mom or even a grandmother (don’t forget the grandmas now!) who like to garden? You can order rare seeds or starter plants online and have them delivered. Or, just go to your local garden center to pick up some plants. You could build a small flower garden together and your mom will be able to enjoy the flowers all summer.
Take a stroll! You can walk or bike around the neighborhood or go to one of Lafayette’s local parks or trails. Take the fur babies along! Be sure to maintain social distance of course. Why not make a picnic and enjoy some fresh air.
Enjoy your Mother’s Day!
