Purdue University 150th Anniversary Aimee Ness

It’s Homecoming weekend at Purdue! There are so many fun things going on around the area, here is your list!

Friday, October 11th

Exploration Acres

6:00 PM to 11:00 PM on Newcastle Road. Open September 13 to October 27th. Time of operation vary. 18 acre corn maze with 8 miles to explore. Enjoy the straw bale maze, pedal car race, corn cannon, pumpkin patch, hay rides, gem mine, pony rides and picnic area.

Prophetstown State Park Presents: Night Bike

6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Prophetstown State Park. Meet at the Prairie View Picnic Area then ride to the Tippecanoe River and back with some stops on the way. Enjoy the fire in the campground after the ride. 4.5 mile ride, best suited for ages 10 and up. Be sure to bring your water bottles, helmets and bike lights.

Evil on Erie (Haunted Warehouse)

7:00 PM to 10:00 PM on various weekends at the Haunted Warehouse at 1240 Erie Street. Walk through the haunted warehouse!

Wolf Park: Howl Night

Gates open at 7:15 PM. Fox talk starts at 7:15 PM Howl Night starts at 7:30 PM. See the animals in their most active state. Howl along with the wolves!

Purdue Band and Orchestra Presents: Jazz Concert featuring AMRE & Lab Bands I & II

8:00 PM to 9:30 PM at Loeb Playhouse at Purdue University. Free event. Join the band for some fun music, with the American Music Repertory Ensemble (AMRE). Free and open to the public.

Professor Joe’s Presents: WWE Trivia

8:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Professor Joe’s Sprots Pub and Pizzeria.

The Great Pumpkin Patch

11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Congress Street Church (North Parking Lot). Shop for pumpkins, gourds, decorations, back sale items, mums and more.

Boilermaker Special Free ride Fridays

Typically from 12:00 – 3:00 Pm before Purdue Home Football Games you can have the chance to ride the Boilermaker Special for Free! Pick up happens about every fifteen minutes in the front of Stewart Center on Purdue’s campus.

Saturday, October 12th

Sesquicentennial Finale: Homecoming

Postgame giant Block P party on State Street. Finale Celebration will feature live entertainment, food, beverages at Purdue Marketplace. Sure to be an amazing experience.

An Evening of Rakugo (Japanese Storytelling)

6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Heisei Japanese Restaurant in West Lafayette. Traditional Japanese Storytelling, Music, food and drinks!

Prophetstown State Park Presents: Arts in the Parks Singing the Earth’s Song

7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Prophetstown State Park meet at the Coneflower Recreation Building. Bring a chair or blanket. If you love the outdoors and singing this is the place to be! Community singing event, no experience needed all welcome!

8:00 AM to 12:30 PM Downtown on 5th Street between Main and Columbia. Historic Farmers Market, fresh garden flowers, baked goods, vegetables, fruits, honey, jams, and jellies.

Boilermaker Crossing

9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Weist Plaza at Purdue University. Family fun event before home games. Meet the team events, inflatable games, and more! Free event open to all ages, opens 3 hours before kickoff.

Astronaut Reunion to Conclude Purdue’s 150th Anniversary Celebration at Homecoming

9:30 AM to 10:30 AM located near the Neil Armstrong Hall of Engineering at Purdue University. Come join the astronaut reunion to celebrate the end of Purdue’s sesquicentennial.

Purdue Band and Orchestra Presents: Thrill on the Hill

10:30 AM at Slayter Center of Performing Arts. Hear the “all-American” Marching Band and auxiliaries before the kickoff. Free and open to the public.

Purdue Football VS Maryland (Homecoming)

12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Ross-Ade Stadium

Sunday, October 13th

Concert Bands and Gold & Black at the Long Center

2:30 PM to 4:30 PM at Long Center For the Performing Arts on 6th Street. Box office opens at 1:30 PM doors open at 2:00 PM.

Purdue Convos Presents Rent

7:00 PM come enjoy the a night at the theater with RENT!

Ghost Hunt – Movie and Mayhem at the Fowler Theatre

10:00 PM to 1:00 AM at the Fowler Theatre. Must be 18 years old or older to attend. Join 765 Paranormal at the Folwer Theatre for and investigation of the haunted theatre.

Harvest Festival 2019

11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Battle Ground Bible church in West Lafayette. The Harvest Festival is an annual celebration that begins with a 5K Run/Walk, family picnic and performance by Scott Greeson and the Trouble with Money Band. Car show, chili cook off, pie baking competition, hayride, bounce house and more!
