Labor day is fast approaching. A weekend full of fun and back yard parties! Need a list of things to do in Lafayette? Here is what is going on Labor Day Weekend in Lafayette.

Friday, August 30th

Night Bike

9:00 PM to 10:30 PM at Prohpetstown State Park, meet at the bike trail parking lot. Here is your chance to explore Prophetstown State Park at dusk. Riders will be staying on a paved trail. All riders will need to provide bike, helmet, water bottles, and head/bike laps are recommended. This ride is best suited for riders age 10 and up.

Saturday, August 31st

Mosey Down Main Street

6:00 PM to 11:00 PM Downtown Lafayette on Main Street, between 6th and 11th Streets. Free family friendly event. Three stages of music, food, beer, and wine sales as well as street performers, sidewalk chalk and hand made Hula hoops, Drum circles and DJ’s, belly dancers, and balloon animals.

Freedom 5K

10:00 AM at Connection Point Church. Run for freedom. All proceeds go to supporting organizations F.R.E.E. International and Project Rescue.

38th Labor Day Family Picnic

11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Columbian Park near the railroad station. Free family event at the park. There is more to do than sit on a blanket and eat! Amuse yourself with the classic car show, rock climbing wall, a variety of food vendors, activities for kids of all ages, games, live music, free park rides, face painting, balloons, the Columbian Park Zoo and more!

Celebrate Indiana! Festival

11:30 AM to 3:30 PM at the Haan Museum of Indiana Art. Come enjoy live performances, lawn games, scavenger hunt, unveiling of two new sculptures and more!

Free Mulch!

7:00 AM Doing some projects around the house? Need some mulch? Get it for free! Find the mulch mountain at the intersection of Chestnut and Sycamore Streets. Bring your gloves, rakes, shovels, truck and trailer, load what you need.

Sunday September 1st

Outdoor Flea Market

6:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Tippecanoe County Amphitheater. Come out and stroll around. You will find some great treasures!

Free Mulch!

Monday September 2nd

Lafayette Citizens Band Special Labor Day Concert

7:00 PM at Jefferson High School. Free quality indoor concert!

WRCC Women’s Ride

10:00 AM to 12:00 PM starting at Hodson’s Bay Company in West Lafayette. Different groups will go at different speeds and distances. Do Drop Rides where no woman will be left behind! Free event, bring your bike and helmet.

Hannafest

12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Northend Community Center. Come enjoy games, food, music and more!
